| B-300 1.7x(Olympus Out of Production) | 55mm | × | About 240mm is attained by 35mm conversion. Even if it is used with any digital camera, it gives us the images of high quality. I can't understand why such an excellent lens discontinued. To get this lens is possible at an overseas mail order or Yahoo auction. Weight is average although it is large. | |
| TCON-17 (Olympus) | 55mm | × | This lens is a fine-tuned B-300 for digital cameras. Digital camera users' wish that B-300 is sold again has reached Olympus. The street price is about 115 US$. | |
| LD-20T 2.0x(Kenko)= Kenko KNT-20 2X | 52mm | ○ 67mm |
280mm is attained by 35mm conversion. Image qaulity is not so high as TCON-17. It is small and is light. However, real magnification is at least at 1.7x or so. A front filter size is 67mm. It is possible to connect two conversion lenses by using this filter thread.
| TC-DC58 1.5x(For Canon G1/G2) | 58mm | × | 210mm is attained by 35mm conversion. Image quality is OK. It is small and is light. Magnification is unsatisfactory. | |
| TC-DC58N 1.75x(For Canon G3) | 58mm | × | It is equivalent to 245mm by 35mm conversion. Magnification is very good. But I'm sorry to say that the qualtiy of images is inferior to B-300 or TCON-17. | |
| DCR-1850PRO 1.85x(Raynox) | 52mm | × | About 260mm is attained by 35mm conversion. Although magnification is pretty good, the surrounding area of the picture is blurred. The central part is rather good. | |
| DCR-1540PRO 1.54x(Raynox) | 52mm | ○ 67mm |
216mm is attained by 35mm conversion. Magnification is not so high but a quality of image is very good and suits every digicam comparatively. A front filter size is 67mm.
| Tiffen 2.0x(Tiffen) | 43mm | ○ 67mm |
280mm is attained by 35mm conversion. Unlike LD-20T, it is real 2.0 x. As to the quality of image, although it is good, the corners of the picture is slightly vignetting as in the case of G2 and unclear in the case of G3. This lens is very heavy. It is possible to put a 67mm filter on the front of the lense..

| WCON-08(Olympus) | 55mm | × | This lens makes G3 get 28mm wide angle. Even if it is used with any digital camera, the quality of images is quite good. There is little distortion on the images. It is very large lense. | |
| CL-05W52(Hakuba) | 52mm | × | This lens gives us 25mm wide angle. When it is connected to G3 by 58->52mm step down ring and 58mm Canon adapter, a little vignetting is caused at the corner of the image. The image is perfect, if 52mm Lensmate adapter is used. A surrounding area of the picture is a little unclear. It is small and convenient to carry. | |
| WC-DC58(For Canon G1/G2) | 58mm | × | It is a wide converter lens of magnification 0.8x. It gives us 28mm wide angle. The image quality is good since it is a genuine product. It is not bulky and light. | |
| WC-DC58N(For Canon G3) | 58mm | × | It is a wide converter of magnification 0.7x. It widens our view to 24.5mm. The image quality is superb as it is exclusieve for G3. It is quite natural to have this lense. It is greatly bulky but not so heavy. | |
| DCR-720(Raynox) | 52mm | ○ 62mm |
This lens is a 0.7x wide converter which can be used at any zooming position. The image quality is a top level and it is next to WC-DC58N. The images it gives to us is surely better than CL-05W52.
| Tiffen0.75x(Tiffen) | 43mm | ○ 67mm |
There is little distortion on the images and it offers images of high quality. You should have this lens if you are a conveter lens lover. To get this lens, we Japanese must buy it through mail-order from foreign countries.
| Observe each picture. Especially look at the central and the surrounding
area. The size of images is 1024*768. You can get the right impression on the converter lenses above. My favotire tele converters are TCON-17 and DCR-1540PRO. Wide converter lenses WC-DC58N and DCR-720 are my companions. We must use the adapter to connect the lense. |
